Twinrova WIP (3/final) + Genki cosplays!

This is the final WIP-entry I will make on Twinrova. I'm almost done and by the end of the week when I will visit my sister to rehearse the act, she should be done! A week in advance, and it will feel great!

I've been working my ass off but at the same time I had fun. I think it pays off that I only make 1 or 2 cosplays a year (and my wallet is happy as well).

Twinrova has ended up becoming one of my most expensive cosplays with a minimum value of 1.600 DKR (appr. 285 USD). But as long as I only make such few a year, I will happily pay the price for the right materials.

Turns out that the black fabrics I selected has a plastic-like surface so vlisoflex glue won't attach to it (not even hot glue or textile glue, wth?) So I had to sew (in zig-zag) the silver fabrics to the sleves (and there are four sides with it) and because the silver fabrics are satin, I had to glue all of that to vliseline at first, so it turned out to be a more-than-whole-day-project to get the sleeves done :P

I managed to get the brooms done yesterday! I just bought a big broomstick with fine wood details, but they were too light so I had my dad help me with some wood-paint. They just turned out perfect!

Demo on the hair. Not much to say other than I still need to sew them to the wig.

(And my boyfriend's head shall be my model this Wednesday, muhahahaha!)

The crown and diamond are done as well. I bought a sheet of plastic and some blue and red half-transparent paper. When you see the crown against the light, you can kinda see through it, and I varied the layers of paper in it so it seems like it has darker and lighter parts. But in normal light it just seems....flat... If there was anything with this cosplay that I would ever re-do, it would be the diamond.

Spent sooo many hours on my cosplay today and I just stopped for today, and with the progress I have made, I thought it was time for some WIP-pictures :3

The pants are done! They are a p-e-r-f-e-c-t fit, but so hard to get on, so I think I'll have to make a zipper on the back or something.

The tulle inside the pants makes it comfortable to look at even when it's lying flat on the floor :3

Also the wig arrived yesterday! I haven't done anything to it yet, really. I need a person to wear it for me.... Hmm... I might just measure my boyfriend's head and see if he'll do :P ha-ha!

So, beside minor changes/optimizations there's is very little left before I can start on the "hair"/"crown"/"fancyness" on her head :3 that is the part I have been looking forward to the most! :D

Cosplay, lenses and Zelda-altar!

Not long ago, I found an issue of the Danish online cosplay magazine; DKos, too read some lenses reviews and found a pretty nice website and ordered a pair of lenses for my Twinrova cosplay. They arrived not two weeks later and I did get some free gifts and a card in which they wrote my name with a pen.

The order was from LoveShoppingHolics.COM (as I write this the site is down, actually) and I have had such a great experience with them that I will use the site for the next lenses I need to buy. In the package I got:

- Lenses

- Some whitening-eye-something

- A "Thankyou" card

- Something that sticks to my hair which is pretty funny (look picture below)

- Lens case

And all in some fancy and cute wrappings :)

Not long ago I decided to move all the stuff from the top shelf in my bookcase and put a lot of my Zelda stuff there (it was almost hidden away on a small black bookcase before). I couldn't fit my mangas and all my figures and games there but I think it turned out well :3

 And today, besides FINALLY starting to play Skyward Sword on Hero Mode, I had some cosplay done. The top is quite difficult because it has to be rather tight but meanwhile I should be able to move around and be aware of where my boobs are all the time (because I have never worn a cosplay shirt/top like this one, and I'm afraid my boobs will fly around EVERYWHERE, hahaha!)

Just with a simple part of the red belt. I'm so excited for this cosplay because I get to be a little flashy and A. GIRL. OMG!

(But in general, well-fuck-me, because I chose another body-paint based cosplay)

Those fabrics were actually very expensive! I think I got the colors very well though :)

 

So.. I finished doing my math work/readings for tomorrow's math exam so I decided to relax for the rest of the day and beside playing a lot of Guild Wars 2 I decided to get some cosplay done!

I had already started on the pants and decided to go further :D

I want the pants to be really big and fluffy so I had bought some tulle for that purpose and I decided to make two fake pant legs with tulle to wear underneath the actual pants (yes, they are ridiculously hot to wear already!)

The red ones (left pic) were some really fast done pants just to see if they would fit and have the effect I wanted. I then made them from the desired fabrics (middle pic) with a little deeper v-shape at the front. At this point I had already made one tulle-leg and I tried to wore it inside the pants (right pic).

This is how the tulle-legs look like without the paints.

Above I have shown two pics (left ones) where I wear the pants without tulle and on the right I wear them with tulle. The difference is actually big, so I want to wear the tulle even though they are hot. Fortunately I can take them out at any time :)

I didn't manage to make any more for today, but I did order the lenses! I found just the perfect ones. I didn't want them too big or with a black border.........the white border in the picture below is not actually on the lenses.

I actually begun on the .....crown? ...Diamond I think! It's still just beta-phase, but it's something!

Revealing Genki-con 2013 cosplay!

J-Popcon and Sketches!

Okay so this is cosplay-related and will be in English :P

J-Popcon was last weekend, and oh boy, did I enjoy jumping into a new cosplay again? Yes, indeed I did. It has been almost a year since I last wore a cosplay..
So I went as Ghirahim from Skyward Sword and people were generally excited about it and for that I am so happy! My dear sweet sister helped me maintain the make-up and carry some of my stuff so I could be really fabulous ♥

I had my sister take a few pictures of me and I also had some awesome photographers take pictures and I can't wait to see them edited and online!

Two of the judges that came to J-Popcon were Yaya-han and PixelNinja! The Danish cosplay magazine DKos had an interview with Yaya-han and she was photographed with my face in her hand! I'm so happy she saw my cosplay (;^;) but it does not cover my excitement for PixelNinja! She was going as Skyloft Zelda from Skyward Sword the same day I was Ghirahim AND I NEVER FOUND HER AND GOT A MY PICTURE TAKEN WITH HER :'C I regret so much that I didn't ask her for a picture the one time I actually ran into her, so fml!

Yaya and my small blue face! Ha-ha-ha!

I will not be going to svs-con this year. It is too far away and too expensive to go all the way, and it is in the middle of my exams at the university so that is a no-go. I will be going to Genki in August/September though and I will be cosplaying with my sweet sister from Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time, but.....................it is not me that will be going as Link ;) ~ I shall reveal who I should be in a later post! ♥

Aaaaaaaand I have had time to draw a little this month!
